Tristan Stubbs delivered a sensational performance, scoring an unbeaten 69 runs in just 42 balls, leading Hampshire Hawks to their first win in the T20 Blast men's competition this summer against Essex Eagles. This victory came less than 24 hours after Stubbs arrived from the IPL, where he had an underwhelming stint with the Delhi Capitals. Hampshire set a challenging target of 200 runs, supported by solid partnerships, including a 64-run partnership with Joe Weatherley and an 84-run partnership with fellow overseas player Hilton Cartwright. The Eagles struggled to chase down the target, finishing at 170-7, 30 runs short of the required score.
