Despite the controversy, the NFL announced it would not investigate Vrabel, citing its personal conduct policy regarding conduct detrimental to the league's integrity. Vrabel expressed gratitude to the media for their patience during this time, noting the significance of having candid discussions with his players as they began their offseason program. As the NFL Draft approaches, Vrabel remains focused on the upcoming event, stating, "This is an important time for us, our organization and the excitement and the joy that those players are going to have." Russini's resignation on April 14 came amid an internal investigation at The Athletic. In her resignation letter, she defended her journalistic integrity and expressed her frustration with the media frenzy surrounding the situation. She decided to step aside to prevent further damage to her career and reputation, stating, "I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career."
