Real Madrid Tops Forbes' Valuation List, Barcelona Surpasses Manchester United

Real Madrid has emerged as the most valuable club in world football, according to Forbes' annual list, boasting a valuation of $9.5 billion (£7.06 billion), a significant increase from last year's £6.75 billion (£5.02 billion). Barcelona now holds the second spot at $7.5 billion (£5.57 billion), overtaking Manchester United, which dropped to third with a valuation of $7.2 billion (£5.35 billion). In the 2024-25 season, Manchester United reported revenues of $865 million (£643 million), despite finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing in the Europa League final. The Premier League continues to dominate, with six teams in the top 10 and 11 in the top 30, including: Liverpool at fourth, valued at $6.2 billion (£4.61 billion) Bayern Munich at sixth with $5.7 billion (£4.24 billion) Paris St-Germain, the 2024-25 European champions, rising to fifth at $5.8 billion (£4.31 billion) Arsenal at eighth with $5.4 billion (£4.01 billion) Chelsea at ninth valued at $4.2 billion (£3.12 billion) Tottenham rounding out the top 10 at $3 billion (£2.23 billion) Arsenal's recent Premier League victory may boost their ranking next year, especially as they prepare to face PSG in the Champions League final. Despite La Liga's top two positions, Atletico Madrid remains the only other representative from Spain in the top 30, ranked 11th. The Premier League’s representation highlights its financial strength, along with the presence of seven Major League Soccer teams, four from Italy's Serie A, three from Germany's Bundesliga, and one each from France's Ligue 1 and Portugal's Primeira Liga. On average, the 30 clubs are valued at $2.9 billion (£2.15 billion), marking a 21% increase from the previous record of $2.4 billion (£1.78 billion) in 2025.
