Sergio Ramos' Ambitious Sevilla Takeover Deal Falls Apart, Leaving Club in Turmoil

Sevilla FC faces a precarious future as negotiations with a consortium led by Sergio Ramos for a takeover have collapsed. After months of discussions, it appears that a deal is off the table, plunging the club into uncertainty. Fans of Los Nervionenses have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current board for several years, and Ramos’ bid seemed to offer hope for change. However, the latest developments indicate that the situation remains unresolved. According to El Correo de Andalucía (via Sport), the purchasing group Five Eleven modified the original terms of their proposal from January. They initially agreed to pay €450 million for 86,000 shares to secure majority control. After reviewing Sevilla’s financial situation, the group has now reportedly revised their offer to approximately €250 million for 30,000 shares, along with a payment schedule over the next year. This new proposal would allow Ramos and Five Eleven to influence decisions without full control, a change likely to be rejected by the majority shareholders. This collapse leaves Sevilla in a difficult position, lacking a clear project moving forward. Manager Luis Garcia Plaza is awaiting clarification on his future, with his contract running until 2027. Additionally, there were talks about Ramos potentially recruiting Getafe manager Jose Bordalas, who also remains in a state of uncertainty. The club's decision-making regarding next season has been stalled due to the takeover discussions, and Sporting Director Antonio Cordon has left after it was determined he would not continue.
