Steelers GM Uncertain About Aaron Rodgers' Whereabouts Ahead of Weekend Meeting

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to await a decision from Aaron Rodgers regarding his future, with uncertainty lingering as reports suggest he might arrive in Pittsburgh for a potential contract discussion. However, as of Friday morning, the quarterback had not yet shown up, leading Steelers general manager Omar Khan to admit he has no idea of Rodgers' location. During an interview on Westwood One's "You Better, You Bet," Khan expressed his confusion: "I don't know where, specifically, Aaron is." Despite the ambiguity, Khan noted that there have been positive discussions with Rodgers since the end of the previous season. He mentioned: "We've had some good conversations since the season ended and since Mike got hired. It's been positive." Khan reiterated his uncertainty about Rodgers' current whereabouts, stating: "But yeah, I don't know where he is at this moment." Reports from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicated that while Rodgers was expected in Pittsburgh this weekend, a deal might not be finalized immediately, suggesting ongoing negotiations may be necessary. Rapoport stated: "I'm not saying it's imminent that he's going to sign this weekend." The expectation remains that Rodgers will return to the Steelers, with further discussions likely to occur. Last season, he signed a one-year deal worth $13.65 million, but this year the Steelers have offered him a 10% raise to $15 million for 2026. The potential for Rodgers to seek a higher salary could complicate negotiations. Originally, the Steelers hoped to finalize a deal before the 2026 NFL Draft, but that timeline has slipped. With OTAs set to begin on May 18, the pressure is on to secure a contract, especially if Rodgers continues to remain elusive.
